HERE TODAY GONE TOMORROW

Some of the artists used impermanent materials: snow, leaves, earth... New technologies were used both to record the work made and also to make new work arising from the impermanence of the piece.

Julie Forrester worked with children to make drawings in the snow and maps in sand. Sharon Kelly's groups made elaborate cut-outs to make transient shadow drawings. Ann Henderson made collaborative work using fire and water.

The impermanence of this work reflects the nature of digital technology which is only visible with particular equipment and may exist only on CD-ROM or videotape.
